Where are you stuck?

Phase 1 / 7 · Talk to Lacra the Next Night

Midnight Reckoning Walkthrough

Join Lacra for the assault on Brencis, enter the ruins beneath Greifberg Castle and push through the ritual and throne-room sequence. The final choices can affect Lacra and several later finale states.

Return to Lacra the next night, meet her at the abandoned fort, then push through the ruins and Greifberg. When Escape the Trap starts, keep moving toward the exit instead of clearing every enemy.

Accepting Brencis’s offer enters the Lacra-betrayal route. It does not by itself prove one guaranteed final ending.

Major Route Commitment

Before You Start the Assault

  • Make a manual save
  • Finish any Lacra content you still care about
  • Treat this as a major finale-route quest

01 Night

Talk to Lacra the Next Night

The journal first asks you to return and speak with Lacra the next night.

Night

First

Talk to Lacra in one day.

Then

Talk with Lacra when you're ready to attack Brencis.

Location

Abandoned fort

02 Fort

Meet Lacra at the Abandoned Fort

When you are ready to attack Brencis, Lacra waits at the abandoned fort during the Night objective.

Lacra Isn't at the Fort?

Check the quest state before treating the fort as empty.

  • Midnight Reckoning is active
  • The wait / return objective has progressed
  • It is Night
  • You are following the current Lacra objective

03 Ruins

Find the Entrance to the Ruins

The journal sends you to find an entrance to the ruins under Svartrau, the passage toward Brencis’s castle.

04 Ritual

Reach Brencis's Ritual

Follow Lacra through the ruins and complete the ritual-related objectives before moving upward into Greifberg.

Show more ritual context

The journal then moves through a temple-like stretch and several named encounters before the route exits toward the castle. Later castle state still depends on getting out of that sequence, not on inventing a hidden ritual rule.

05 Castle

Push Toward the Throne Room

The route through Greifberg is mostly linear. Stay on the current journal goal and keep resources for the stretch ahead.

Current goal

Make your way to the throne room.

Focus on

  • Progression
  • Survival
  • Resources

A non-standard combat sequence is coming up. Make a save before it starts.

06 Trap

How to Escape the Trap

Do not try to kill every enemy.

Escape — Don't Clear

Infinite / Repeating Spawns

  1. They keep respawning
  2. Clearing the room does not complete the objective
  3. Keep moving
  4. Fight only enemies blocking your path
  5. Reach the exit

Keep moving through the corridor. Kill only what blocks the route.

How do I know I am going the right way?

Stay on the journal’s Escape the Trap objective and keep pushing forward. If enemies keep arriving after a room looks empty, you are still inside the trap.

Why Won't the Enemies Stop Spawning?

Because the encounter is not a room-clear objective.

The enemies continue spawning while you remain in the trap area; progress comes from reaching the exit.

07 Throne

Reach the Throne Room

Brencis is in the throne room. A major decision sits on this stretch.

Major decision ahead

Show choice

Brencis's Offer

Accept the offer

I accept the offer. I'm sorry, Lacra.

Immediate

Enters the betrayal branch.

Conditional long-term outcome

Conditional — not safe to reduce to one guaranteed ending.

Reject the offer / remain with Lacra

Use this as the action, not as invented dialogue. The verified player-visible accept line is the one shown above.

Does Accepting Brencis's Offer Betray Lacra?

It is a confirmed entry into the Lacra-betrayal route.

However, the final route still uses additional downstream character and timing states, so this single line should not be presented as a guaranteed standalone ending switch.

Reveal long-term impact

Later routing can still depend on Lacra's relationship state, her attitude and time-related conditions.

Character DeathEnding Impact

Can Lacra Die in Midnight Reckoning?

Yes.

Midnight Reckoning contains a confirmed Lacra-death outcome during the inner-keep / Brencis sequence.

This is a live combat or cutscene consequence, not a line you can treat as Choice X kills Lacra.

How Midnight Reckoning Can Affect the Ending

Completing Midnight Reckoning is not the same thing as saying every later Lacra / Brencis state is fixed by one dialogue choice.

  • Main finale
  • Lacra
  • Marat
  • Florin
  • Valley

Does Midnight Reckoning Lead to The Patricide?

It is the finale quest tied to Lacra's route toward confronting Brencis together.

  1. My family is safe from Brencis now, thank God, but... all I can think about is Lunka.
  2. I couldn't save my family, but at least they've been avenged. May Brencis burn in Hell for eternity.
  3. I've decided to face Brencis without Lacra. She won't appreciate it, but it's for the best.

Midnight Reckoning Not Progressing?

Most stalls come from the Night requirement, missing the fort, losing the ruins route, or treating the trap as a clear.

The quest first tells you to return to Lacra the next night; when you're ready to attack Brencis, she waits at the abandoned fort during the Night objective.

It enters the confirmed Lacra-betrayal route, but later character and time states still affect downstream routing.

Can Lacra die?

Yes. Midnight Reckoning contains a confirmed live Lacra-death outcome.
