A Lone Wolf's Hunt Walkthrough & Choices

A Lone Wolf's Hunt contains several betrayal choices that look similar but do not set the same state. Some choices record a stronger betrayal immediately; others start a betrayal path that can escalate only if earlier game conditions are met.

Brencis, the vrakhir at the center of A Lone Wolf’s Hunt

A Lone Wolf's Hunt Quick Answers

  • Direct betrayal

    “I killed Lacra.”

Immediately records the stronger Lacra betrayal state.

  • Conditional betrayal

“I can lead you to your sworn enemy – Lacra.”

Starts the Lacra betrayal route. It can escalate later.

  • Direct betrayal

“The rebels failed because of me.”

Immediately records the stronger Marat / rebel betrayal state.

  • Conditional betrayal

“I know where the rebels are hiding.”

Starts the rebel betrayal route. It can escalate later.

A Lone Wolf's Hunt Walkthrough

These steps follow official quest objectives. They do not invent a map route.

01 Start

Start / Progress the Quest

Confront Brencis without anyone’s help. The journal says it will be risky, but not impossible.

  1. Use the side entrance to get into Greifberg Castle. Optional. The journal asks whether you should use it and face Brencis alone.
  2. Defeat the soldiers. Greifberg Castle is heavily guarded.
  3. Defeat the gargoyle. A winged monster guarding the courtyard blocks the way to Brencis.

02 Castle

Reach the Major Decision

Keep moving toward Brencis. The conversation is the quest’s major decision.

  1. Enter the inner keep. Brencis is somewhere in the hall of his keep.
  2. Defeat Ambrus if that objective is active.
  3. Find the throne room if that objective is active.
  4. Find Brencis in the dungeons if he has gone there.

03 Decision

Resolve the Brencis Conversation

This is where the four confirmed betrayal lines appear. They are not interchangeable.

The same conversation can record a direct betrayal or only start a later route.

04 Route

Complete the Chosen Route

After the conversation, official objectives can include combat, a trap, or another search for Brencis. Which ones appear depends on how the quest resolves.

  1. Defeat Brencis if that objective is active.
  2. Defeat Bakir if he is standing between you and Brencis.
  3. Defeat Xanthe if she is blocking the way.
  4. Find a way to escape Xanthe’s trap if that loop is active.
  5. Find Brencis in the underground sanctuary if the prisoners were taken there.
