Infamy
Your overall notoriety. Where Loyalty Lies can check whether you have reached Notorious or higher.
COURT · WORLD STATE · PROGRESSION
Infamy is your overall notoriety in The Blood of Dawnwalker. Learn how to reach Notorious, why your Infamy may not increase, how Anger differs, and what Edicts can change.

Infamy represents your wider reputation for opposing Brencis. Some quests check your current tier, while rising Infamy can bring Edict effects that make parts of the world less forgiving.
RAISING NOTORIETY
No repeatable way to raise Infamy is clear enough to recommend yet. Use the displayed Infamy tier as your guide while completing other content, and return to Crake as soon as it reaches Notorious.
Do not assume that a Court Activity or another action raises Infamy unless the Infamy display actually changes. A vassal’s Anger is tracked separately.
DON’T CHECK THE WRONG METER
Making one vassal angry does not necessarily increase your overall Infamy.
Your overall notoriety. Where Loyalty Lies can check whether you have reached Notorious or higher.
A reaction tied to an individual vassal. If your Infamy did not move after upsetting Ambrus, Bakir, or Xanthe, you may have increased that character’s Anger instead.
Open Court Activities guide →WHERE LOYALTY LIES
During Where Loyalty Lies, Crake may refuse to continue until your Infamy reaches Notorious or higher.
Raise your notoriety to Notorious or higher
Crake deemed that I haven't done enough to be trusted. I must prove myself further against Brencis before he allows me to join the manumit ranks.
STEP 1
If the displayed tier is below Notorious, the quest will not progress.
STEP 2
Complete actions that move the Infamy display. Angering one vassal may only affect Anger.
STEP 3
Once the display says Notorious or higher, return to Where Loyalty Lies and speak to Crake again.
WORLD CONSEQUENCES
Higher Infamy can bring changes that affect shopping and enemy strength. The exact Infamy tier for each effect is still unclear.
Shop prices can increase by 15% or 30% while Trade Law is active.
Browse Dawnwalker shops →Soldiers can appear 4 levels stronger while this effect is active.
QUEST NEED VS WORLD COST
If Where Loyalty Lies is blocked by the Notorious requirement, raising Infamy is necessary to continue that route.
Higher Infamy is not a general upgrade. Edicts can increase shop prices or make soldiers stronger.
In short: raise Infamy for a quest or outcome you want, not simply to fill the meter.
Trade Law can make valley-wide shop prices 15% or 30% higher. If prices suddenly changed, check whether your rising Infamy brought this effect into play.
The clear benefit is meeting the Notorious requirement in Where Loyalty Lies. No general gear, money, or Court-progress reward is known.
A reliable repeatable way to lower Infamy is not known yet.
The maximum Infamy value is still unclear. Reaching a named tier does not reveal the full limit.
The time cost of Infamy-raising actions varies or remains unclear. Read the in-game action prompt before committing time.

CHECK 2
Complete the conversation, quest step, or activity before checking the display again.
CHECK 3
A quest may require a named tier even after the underlying value rises.
CHECK 4
An Infamy gain does not guarantee that an Edict will appear immediately.
CHECK 5
If your tier already says Notorious, return to Crake and retry the conversation.
CHECK 6
After these checks, review the quest prerequisites and current known issues.
CURRENT LIMITS
The complete Edict order, exact Infamy gains, tier thresholds, activation timing, and a repeatable way to lower Infamy are still unclear. The guide avoids turning estimates into fixed rules.
